Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions about DIFC Wills.

A DIFC Will is a Will that is registered at the DIFC Wills Service Centre (formerly DIFC Wills & Probate Registry). Such a legal document is registered in English and can be only made by non-Muslims in the UAE.

Firstly, a prior appointment for the online registration needs to be scheduled with the DIFC WSC. On the scheduled date, the testator and two (2) witnesses must join an online call with an officer at DIFC WSC, and provide their e-signatures. Once the registration is complete, the Wills shall be uploaded on DIFC’s online portal.

The executor is an individual selected by the testator (the individual making the Will) to implement the wishes included in the Will. The executor holds the responsibility of ensuring that the deceased person’s assets are passed on to the rightful heir.

Yes, you need to bring along two (2) individuals for witnessing during the registration of the Will.
